good stuff

Very loopable. Don't have too much to add for improvement - I'd like the drums to be equalized a little bit more... a little louder. Aside from that, nice and flawless.

random notes

You said you wanted a review of this... :)

You sound like you're using a lot of random notes for your synth. It gives a song less character if it doesn't have a cohesive thought. I think you could jazz the song up by having a harder drum line come in at around 41 seconds. That would really match the groove.

The synth that comes in at 1:42 is blah...

Overall, the tones of the synths are really nice, and with structure they can sound really cool.

Drop me an IM sometime, maybe I can fix this one up for you so you can take a look at how I fixed things.

Refreshing

This is some nice work. I definitely see a bit of style developing here... that said, on to the review:

Nice opening. The synth and drums are a good balance. The guitar that comes in, however overpowers everything else. You need to equalize the audio a bit more. Either bring down the guitar level or bring up the backing music.

Aside from that, the only qualm I have is you end the track very abruptly. You need to figure out how you want to end it instead of just having it cut off.

A good beginning

Before I begin, you had 1.608 seconds of silence (precise estimate ;)) at the onset of the mp3. Authors who would want to use the track for their flash submission would have trouble syncing the audio with that kind of a gap.

Now to the review,
The track starts off good enough with a good soft synth... (at about 7 seconds... right before the guitar comes in... i swear I could hear a guitar being turned on or being plugged in) - Then the guitar comes in.

The guitar sounds like you have a simple distortion on it. Makes it sound generic. You can also hear the squelches of hand movement. You need to adjust the cutoff of the distortion to minimize that sound; and you need to brush up your chops on the guitar too - make cleaner quicker strokes.

The backing synth (is it synth? because it could also be guitar with a delay on it) that comes in at 32 seconds, however, is... wow. I really enjoyed that. It's the best part of the track.

Finally, the drum work... All you have is a steady kick. It sounds so... metronome. You need to beef up the drum loops.

All in all, you can really improve this track, but it's good in the form it's in now.

A good start...

You have the makings of a good electronic musician, but you're going to need a lot of practice.

So, what I liked about it; nice ping pong sounding percussion at points... (sounds like a hihat that's being played at different notes) I like the fact that there's good structure to the track. Still, it sounds like you're using a lot of sounds. Try creating your own 'instruments' - download some VST's if you're using fruityloops. If you are, get the MDA plugins.

Nice lyrics, lame music...

A remix would involve you changing up the sound of the music... not just speeding up a track (Birdman's "What happened to that boy") and putting in your own lyrics. The only thing I like about the track is the vocals - but you need a mic that doesn't pop. I recommend a condenser mic. Something that, when you use words that have the letter "P" or "B" in them, it'll come out clear. Otherwise, you can hear the hissing in the mic.

[muffled]

The track is decent, at best. The vocals need to be cleaned up. You can't understand a word that's being rapped, and what's the point of a hot rap track if you can't hear the lyrics? The music behind the rap is what really shines, it kicks enough - but it could also be developed more. Also, the audio just cuts off at the end, which factored in heavily on my scoring of this.

Keep it up though man.

Nice atmosphere...

A slow starting song, but it builds up really nice. A lot more could be added (guitar at the end perhaps? maybe bring in backing of the main synth... add distortion to it so it's driving and layer the soft with the hard... so to speak...) to make the song spectacular. The deep kick drum rattles my headphones, and that's a really good thing. Keep up the good work, I look forward to future installments. ;)

Hard Hit is More of a Soft Hit

I liked the beat, but it was really gentle. The title and description led me to believe it would be harder than this...

However, it was a really nice loop - but it felt like there could be perhaps a breakbeat with distortion thrown on... or at least some distorted drums at the end of the loops could come in...

Also, a little bit more atmosphere... add a soft atari-like synth perhaps. The track is begging for it. I recommend, if you add more synth, to play around with the panning. Were you to add an atari-like synth, as I suggested, you could make it so it's primarily in the right ear, for example.

I look forward to more! :)

I make electronic rock music. I'm open to remix for people, I want as many people to use my music as possible. Check it out in the audio section. Send me an IM. Rock on.
