"Pretty good"

submission: PadLoop
date: August 20, 2005

A nice first submission, but you're using a lot of default instruments/samples. Was this made using fruityloops? It sounds like it. Anyhow, I'd recommend you experiment with new drum/synth samples... you can usually find free packs to download from different sites. It'll help so your songs don't sound so defaultish. Aside from that, it's a nice arrangement, but I'd stay away from the multiple open hi-hat hits in the song, it just sounds cheesy.

Another redeeming quality is that the song loops pretty well.

"synthy"

date: August 20, 2005

I like this tune. Very synthpop kind of feel. You should give the band 'Mesh' a listen, I think you'd like them. This is a good submission, I look forward to future submissions.

Author's Response:

Hey, thanks for the very kind words. Mesh is one of my bigger influences and I am actually trying to get signed to their same label right now. I will be putting more tracks soon, so keep an ear out. Thanks again.

Step Into Another World

"very good..."

date: April 30, 2004

This is definitely nice and light airy material. It's a laid back track, and I can definitely see some flash artists using it for soft background music. Overall a good effort.

shadow (songs are messed up!)

"sounds cooler..."

date: October 29, 2003

I think the song sounds cooler sped up. Hahaha. You should work with that. Mistakes are meant to happen this way. When the second high guitar riff comes in, you should add a few muted guitar slaps... using the guitar as a slap bass almost... that'd add a little bit more atmosphere. Love the track sped up though. :)

"Breakbeat"

submission: time
date: October 29, 2003

I think this song could use a light break beat... when the main soft synth comes in, it could use a soft guitar riff that would etch its way in slowly... If you want to develop this, that is. Good start though. :) Trying to make sure all your songs have comments. :)

Back To The Basics 2

"you can see it coming..."

date: October 24, 2003

The opening drags a bit, you should cut that a little bit shorter... and you almost can tell what kind of a drum beat is going to come in... aside from that, it's a nice laid back track. Good work. :)

"Telephon Tel Aviv..."

date: October 20, 2003

This reminds me a lot of Telephon Tel Aviv... so much so that I need to listen to some of it tonight when I get home. :)

Good work.

Shallow Waters

"fives across the board..."

submission: Shallow Waters
date: October 15, 2003

This doesn't really show a lot of effort on your part. I hear fruityloops all over this. The "PLUCK" plugin... the packaged drums (handclaps, etc.)... it feels like very little of this was customized. You need to think out of the box. You have to create your own samples...

Escaping Demise

"good stuff"

submission: Escaping Demise
date: October 3, 2003

Very loopable. Don't have too much to add for improvement - I'd like the drums to be equalized a little bit more... a little louder. Aside from that, nice and flawless.
